There are times for the use of fire. It has to be controlled and localized. See Max Brooks' World War Z for some specific instances it could be utilized.
i like the exclamation point over the guy's head in the fire number. very appropriate panic symbol.

i disagree with 3. it is my favorite strategy in l4d. but of course distance is necessary.
Wouldn't the fire eventually consume them, thus destroying them? Obviously, doing this from a safe distance is necessary. Then again, I suppose shambling masses of flaming zombies woudl also set fire to everything around them.

Ha, never thought of that. I thought fire would be one of their weaknesses.
I always wonder why the zombies don't attack one another. Perhaps they are more intelligent than we think?
